About the Conference

The US Youth Soccer Piedmont Conference consists of teams primarily from Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

The Piedmont Conference operates league play for boys and girls teams in the 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, 17U and 19U age groups.

Boys and girls teams in the 15U-19U age groups play their games primarily in the fall.

Boys’ and girls’ teams in the 13U and 14U age groups will play their games in both the fall and the spring.

  • The highest level of play for each age group takes place within a Premier I Division.

The Piedmont Conference is one of 13 Conferences within the National League that offer team-based competition, meaning each team earns its place into the appropriate level of play through its play on the field. The 13 Conferences share national connectivity via the Conference Playoffs, which provide a platform for the top 10 percent of teams from the 3,500+ teams playing in the conferences to come together and compete for an opportunity to continue on the pathway toward the US Youth Soccer National Championships.

The National League team-based divisions provide teams with two postseason pathways:

  1. USYS National Championships Pathway – Teams can apply for the National League Winter Events and have an opportunity to ultimately advance to the USYS National Championships. In order to do so, a team must:
    • Be accepted into a National League Winter Event
      • Teams who won their 2024-25 National League Premier 1 division are guaranteed acceptance into a Winter Event
    • Win their group at the National League Winter Event
      • Group winners will advance directly to the USYS National Championships
      • Second-place finishers will earn a spot in The National League Cup
  2. The National League Cup Pathway – National League Premier 1 division winners will qualify for The National League Cup Playoffs to have an opportunity to ultimately advance to The National League Cup Finals. In order to do so, they must:
    • Finish as the top team in their respective Premier 1 division to earn a spot in The National League Cup Playoffs at the end of that same seasonal year.
    • Win their group at The National League Cup Playoffs to ultimately advance to The National League Cup Finals.

Any team looking to participate in the Piedmont Conference must understand the level of commitment it takes to participate in a league that stretches across three (3) different state associations.

All teams understand that this is a multi-state league and that teams may travel hundreds of miles to participate in conference games. Teams
understand that they may not play any true “home” games. A limited number of teams are accepted into then Piedmont Conference, so it is important that each team makes the commitment to travel BEFORE applying to the conference.
